Medium-phosphorus nickel plating (NiP 5-9%)

Of all of these, this is the most used plating.  Its MAIN CHARACTERISTICS are:

• Uniformity.
•  Rugosity: Does not vary in low and medium thicknesses.
• Appearance: Very bright.
• Hardness:

  – Just plated: 550-650 Hv.

  – With hardness treatment: 950-1000 Hv.

• Anti-corrosion level: Medium.

  Neutral Salt Spray (ASTM B-117) (depending on the material and layer thickness) < 100 hours.

• Maximum recommended layer thickness: 100-125 microns.
• Wear resistance: Very good.
• Slightly magnetic.
